Philippine bet Ingrid Santamaria concluded her Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 journey with nothing but love and gratitude.

The beauty queen looked back on her pageant stint in a series of Instagram posts on Wednesday, March 29. “Ang mahal kong Pilipinas, this fight was for you,” she began.

“I am rarely rendered speechless, but this time it took me a few days before I could gather the right words. This journey has by far been the most rigorous yet rewarding,” she said.

“Through pageants, I’ve learned so much about who I am, who I was, and who I want to become. I’ve learned to persevere in times of hopelessness. To have faith in times of trial. To be tireless in pursuit of what’s to come,” she continued.

Santamaria expressed her gratitude to her nearest and dearest, including her family, pageant mentors, and Filipino fans. “It was once my dream to wear my country across my chest and I am proud to say I did it to the very best of my ability.”

She also thanked her doubters, for teaching her “to become strong.”

In her final post, the Filipina beauty expressed her hope that she was able to spark inspiration to her fellow morenas after her feat. “I hope that my story shows every little morena girl out there that she can achieve anything she puts her mind to.”

“This is Maria Ingrid Teresita Santamaria, your Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, finally signing off,” she concluded.

Santamaria ended her journey to the Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 crown in the Top 14 on March 26 in Bolivia, where Arlette Rujel of Peru emerged as the top winner.

Winwyn Marquez is still the last Filipina to have clinched the highly coveted title, which she won in 2017.

In 2021, Emmanuelle Vera placed as 3rd runner-up in the pageant. She is also one of the candidates for this year’s Miss Universe Philippines.
