Who is Miss Perú Arlette Rujel, Reina Hispanoamericana 2022?
Reina Hispanoamericana is one of the highly anticipated beauty pageants among Latin American countries as it celebrates Hispanic heritage.
In its 31st edition, Miss Perú Arlette Rujel emerged as the Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 winner. She bested 28 other finalists in the beauty pageant held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on March 26 (Philippine time), including Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Venezuela.
Here's what we know about the Peruvian beauty queen.
Arlette attended Callao's Colegio Panamericana–Bellavista Callao, as well as Lima's Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano.
The Pan-American school of Colegio Panamericana was founded by a ministerial resolution in December 1952 thanks to the vision of Dr. Nicolás Claros Martorella. The school has since become a prestigious institution that serves the Chalaca community by promoting the English language and mathematics on top of a well-rounded curriculum.
Meanwhile, the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano-Lima is the biggest binational Cultural Center of Latin America, with an extensive selection of cultural events, including art exhibitions in in-house galleries, dance festivals, music events, book presentations, and more.
Arlette started modeling professionally a decade ago in 2013. She has since been featured in commercials for brands like KFC and Izipay.
The young model finished as Miss Teen Model Perú 2014, represented Peru in Miss Teen Model Internacional 2016, and was the World Top Model runner-up in 2016.
Aside from modeling-themed competitions, Arlette ruled at traditional beauty pageants. She finished in the top five of Miss Peru 2020, before being crowned the Reina Hispanoamericana Peru in 2022. Arlette went on to finally earn the title of Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 on Sunday.
When she's not in the modeling and pageant scene, Arlette seems to enjoy seeing the beauty of other international destinations. She has visited the likes of Argentina, Bulgaria, and Italy, among others.
Arlette is Reina Hispanoamericana's first winner to hail from Peru.
She also triumphed over Philippine bet Ingrid Santamaria, who was the first to be announced in the top 14 lineup but did not make it through the finalist cut. Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez is the first and last Filipina to have clinched the crown.
