Kris Aquino discharged after six weeks in the hospital, says she needs walking coach
Kris Aquino is settling into her new home after spending six "rollercoaster" weeks in the hospital.
The "Queen of All Media" took to Instagram to share an update on her health on Feb. 9.
"I'll discuss my health challenges when the #KrisPodcast is ready for your viewing and listening, and experts can explain to you why every day God gives is simply 'borrowed time,'" she added. Previously, Kris expressed her hopes to have her own video podcast, as she missed doing interviews.
"I am praying hard my 'RETURN TO OWNER' date is still a decade away."
A memory of Noynoy
As Kris's post comes a day after her late brother, Noynoy Aquino's birthday on Feb. 8, she shared their text exchange from when the former president was "being so brutally crucified" on social media.
"I can remember so clearly his reply to me when I said: 'You're being beaten up so badly. Defend yourself—it's so unfair. This mess is not your fault. You don't have to be the silent leader all the time because you have a legacy of many achievements to protect.'"
Noynoy's reply reassured her to relax. "My conscience is clear, and I can still sleep peacefully. Matulog ka na, and please, 'wag kang pumatol. Less talk, the sooner this will die down. If you talk, you will just fan the flames, and who will be the happiest? Our enemies. Our birthdays are coming—let's have peaceful ones," he said.
Kris, who's now 54, is set to celebrate her birthday on Feb. 14. Noynoy, who passed away on June 24, 2021, would have been 66.
A message for Dr. Mike
In her lengthy post, Kris thanked several of her doctors, including her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Mike Padlan. She shared that he facilitated her confinement on Dec. 25 and 26.
"I am forever indebted because without him, I would no longer be here," she said. "We didn't work as a couple, but we do work as physician and patient because Dr. Mike knows me and how my body works; he has seen and continues to witness me at my weakest and instinctively knows which doctors I get along with."
Kris first revealed that she had a boyfriend who's a doctor in June 2024 and said she would keep things private. However, in February 2025, she said she's been single "for some time." Their breakup led to Padlan's son coming to the doctor's defense against "false stories" regarding the couple's breakup.
'Slowly getting back'
The TV host shared that she's set to begin her physical medical rehabilitation next week after the stitches in her PortaCath, a device for drawing blood and giving treatment, are removed.
Apart from this, Kris is looking for a Tai Chi teacher and a walking coach to help her. She said that her maintenance medicines cause dizziness and loss of balance.
"Well, let's just be truthful: To begin with, 'super lampa' na 'ko. I cannot afford to have fractured bones," she said.
Kris also shared that so far, she's feeling like she's recovering well.
"I'm slowly getting back the old 'say-it-like-it-is, ready-to-laugh, even-at-herself' me," she said.
The TV host is battling several autoimmune diseases, including fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease.
