Jaya figures in car accident while heading to Regine Velasquez's concert
Singer Jaya Gotidoc announced that she and her friends figured in a car accident while on their way to attend Regine Velasquez's concert in the US.
In an Instagram post, the 53-year-old singer posted a video showing herself being wheeled on a stretcher as well as the damages her car sustained after the accident.
She also quoted a paragraph from the Book of Isaiah that read, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
"On a ride from Sacramento, California, on the way to Graton Casino to see my friends and watch Regine V's concert... when all of a sudden we get into a car collision," Jaya recounted.
"My friend Dr. Josephine Weber was driving and with us was Auntie Merly Escolta (her cousin) when suddenly we got hit from the back," she continued.
She assured her followers that she is "doing okay," but that her friends are still being checked by medical professionals, "They will be alright, by God's grace. Thank you Jesus for sending us divine protection and covering us with your blood. It could've been super worse. I'm glad Doc and Auntie Merls are okay."
Jaya urged her followers to always practice road safety measures so as to avoid sustaining serious injuries if they get into an accident.
"Please wear your seatbelts at all times when you are in a vehicle, especially if you're a back seat passenger," she stressed.
Many flooded the comments section with wishes for her speedy recovery.
"I'm so glad you and everyone involved are not seriously injured. How scary!" one user wrote.
Another one commented, "Glad you’re safe mama Jaya! Praying for you, Doc Webber, and Ms. Merly's speedy recovery!"
Back in August 2022, Jaya was also involved in a life-threatening incident when her house caught fire and got burned down while they were celebrating their daughter's 16th birthday.
She posted a picture of what remained of her house after it was consumed by flames, where broken windows and a charred garage could be seen. Fortunately, none of her family members got hurt.
They have since found a new home in the city of Richardson. Jaya has been living in the US after deciding to leave the Philippines during the height of the pandemic.
