RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne, whose real name was James Lee Williams, has died at 32.

Their publicist, Simon Jones, announced their passing on Instagram early Monday, Jan. 6.

"It is with immense sadness that we let you know that our beloved James Lee Williams - The Vivienne, has passed this weekend," he said, describing the performer as "incredibly loved, warm-hearted, and [an] amazing person."

"Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother, and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career," he continued.

Jones said they won't be releasing further details about Williams' death at this time.

"We please ask that James' family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve," he added.

The Vivienne emerged as the winner of the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019. They also made an appearance in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 7.

Williams dropped their debut EP, B*tch, in 2022. Aside from being a musician, they were also a stage actor who took part in a stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz in 2023 at London's West End.
