Which of these 32 ladies will be crowned the next Miss Universe Philippines?
After six online challenges, the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization has named the 32 finalists who will compete for the 2022 edition of the pageant.
The MUPH organization explained in a reveal video that the finalists were chosen based on their performances in the online challenges and fan votes were “not considered.” An online “Kumu-niverse” campaign through the streaming platform Kumu also determined the two candidates who made the cut.
Meet the 32 phenomenal ladies who advanced to the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 coronation night.
Benguet’s Shawntel Cruz was selected as the winner of the Kumuniverse Choice campaign, while Davao Del Norte’s Jeanne Nicci Orcena was chosen as the Kumu’s Choice based on the most number of streaming hours.
Among the familiar faces of the campaign include Miss Universe Philippines 2020 third runner-up Pauline Amelinckx (Bohol), Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee (Makati City), Miss Earth Philippines 2018 Celeste Cortesi (Pasay City), Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019 Katrina Llegado (Taguig City), and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Lou Piczon (Cebu Province).
The finalists competed in the pageant’s online challenges such as the Headshot, Introduction Video, Swimsuit, Fashion and Runway, Casting Video, and Interview.
The top 32 candidates are set to compete for the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 crown on April 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
