Sad news for Adele fans. The award-winning singer has revealed that she is taking a break from making music "for an incredibly long time."

Adele announced as she performed her final show in Munich, Germany as part of her Las Vegas residency that began in November last year.

While she told fans that she still has 10 shows left in Vegas, she shared that she is indefinitely putting her music career in the backseat to focus on her personal life.

"I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole lengths of my break. I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I've done over the last three years, and I really, really hold them in the bottom of my heart forever," an emotional Adele said.

"It has been amazing, I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now. I want to live my life that I’ve been building and I will miss you terribly," she continued.

Her hiatus comes after she had finally confirmed her engagement to her partner, sports agent Rich Paul, during a concert in Munich earlier this August when a fan held up a sign asking for her hand in marriage.

"I can’t marry you—because I’m already getting married!" she said.

Adele was previously married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki, separating in 2018. They share an 11-year-old named Angelo.

The renowned music artist has been spending the last three years touring her fourth studio album, 30. Released in November 2021, the album takes inspiration from the singer's experiences and anxiety following her divorce and its impact on her son's life, along with motherhood and fame.
