Adele said she has not had a drink in three months, admitting she was a "borderline alcoholic" in her 20s.

During her "Weekends with Adele Las Vegas" residency show, the Rolling in the Deep singer told the crowd she stopped drinking alcohol three and a half months ago after seeing audience members drink a pint of whiskey sour during her show.

“I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago," she said while acknowledging that it hasn’t been easy refraining from alcohol.

“It’s boring. I mean, oh my God, it’s boring,” she continued. “I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my 20s, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine [too].”

She then quipped to a fan, “So enjoy your whiskey sour. I'm very, very jealous.”

Adele previously shared with Vogue that she had a very “close relationship” with alcohol, saying she always "wanted to know what was so great about it."

“I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It’s what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it," she explained to the outlet.

The following year, the 34-year-old singer also disclosed that she had “stopped drinking” after losing her estranged father to bowel cancer and dropped seven stone (98 lbs.) after cutting out alcohol altogether during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“That’s one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything,” Adele said at the time.

Adele completed the final show of the first run of her residency on Saturday night. Her Las Vegas residency is extended to Nov. 4, 2023.
