Heart Evangelista’s father Rey Ongpauco gives glimpse of birthday celebration

Rey Ongpauco, the father of Heart Evangelista, gave a look at his birthday party with his family on social media.

In an Instagram post, the businessman shared a video of him celebrating his special day on Friday, July 26. “Maraming salamat sa aking mga anak, mga bumisita, at sa mga bumabati ngayon sa aking kaarawan,” he wrote in the caption.

In the short clip, Heart can be seen singing the Happy Birthday song with her sisters, with Rey blowing out candles on a strawberry cake. Rey received hugs and kisses from Heart and her siblings after.

This comes a few months after Heart revealed Rey missed her second wedding with Chiz Escudero as he was “recovering” from sickness. She didn’t get into detail about Rey’s condition then.

In 2019, the actress shared in an Instagram post that her dad underwent radiation therapy, which is "a cancer treatment that uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors," according to the National Cancer Institute.
