No AI needed: These celebs show their innate it-factor in real-life throwback photos
Over the weekend, the "AI yearbook" trend took social media by storm, with a lot of local celebrities hopping in and sharing the '90s-inspired AI version of themselves.
While these photos generated by artificial intelligence are definitely captivating—and funny for the most part—there are also stars who have proven that they need no advanced technology to show that they already have what it takes to be a star from the get-go.
Several celebrities, like DingDong Dantes, Luis Manzano, and more, also took to Instagram to show off the real version of their younger selves in charming throwback photos.
DingDong, for one, shared his "yearbook gone wrong” version of the trend with a photo of himself as he graduated from high school at the Ateneo De Manila University. It was also in the then-all-boys school that the actor attended grade school.
He paired his photo with the witty caption, “Ai, mali. #AI90sYearbookGoneWrong. (Paano ba tong Al na 'to? Help...)"
Luis, meanwhile, made fun of his younger self by saying he looked like a “pusit” in his Grade 7 graduation photo with his frizzy hair and a "bombilya" back in high school because of his buzz cut. The 42-year-old star went to Colegio de San Agustin for his high school education.
Actress and beauty queen Bianca Manalo uploaded her actual high school photo and her beau, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian’s college graduation pic with the caption, “What’s the AI high school pic fuzz all about? Here I share with you, my high school picture and Sherwin’s college pic.”
The beauty queen studied elementary and high school at Manresa School in Alabang Hills, while the politician graduated from Boston University, USA.
Actor Dennis Trillo and journalist Atom Araullo are also among the personalities who don't need AI to prove their star quality. Although their grade school yearbook photos were shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Joey De Leon's son Jako (@jakodeleon) a while back, their photos are just too adorable not to include in the list!
Dennis later spent his high school years at Jose Abad Santos Memorial School while Atom went to Philippine Science High School.
