She got ready! Marian Rivera brought over 10 suitcases with her in Israel for Miss Universe judging
All eyes are on Beatrice Luigi Gomez as she represents the Philippines in the 70th Miss Universe in Eilat, Israel on Dec 12 (Dec 13, Philippine time). But Filipinos are also looking forward to seeing actress Marian Rivera in the pageant as a member of its selection committee.
Apart from the joy of seeing a Filipino actress at a global TV event, fans are also eagerly anticipating what Rivera would look like at the Miss Universe finals.
It seems the actress really prepared for her judging, fashion-wise. How prepared?
According to a report on GMA-7’s newscast 24 Oras on Tue, Dec 7, Rivera brought 10 pieces of luggage with her to Eilat. She also brought her glam team with her.
Rivera’s husband, actor Dingdong Dantes, joined them as well.
Rivera’s stylist Mel Sy told 24 Oras that they prepared for looks for events the actress may attend. Apart from the finals judging, the actress is expected to attend official Miss Universe functions in Israel,
Her “main gown” for the Miss Universe coronation night—reportedly by renowned fashion designer Francis Libiran, the same designer who made Gomez’s Miss Universe evening gown—was hand-carried. “Para safe, para sure,” Sy said.
“'Yung iba kasi depende kung ano 'yung pupuntahan niya kunwari cocktail or gown or kung welcome party, at least covered namin 'yung looks," Sy added. "Kung feeling namin underdressed siya, we can change to long gown, depende sa category.”
Steven Doloso, Rivera’s makeup artist, guaranteed: “Rest assured, she’s gonna be a stunner and head-turner sa gala night.”
Libiran said she made Rivera’s Miss Universe gown in four days. The gown—a pink off-shoulder gown, based on the report—will highlight the actress’ simplicity and elegance.
“She wants an off-shoulder. Sabi ko, ‘Marian, nakaupo ka most of the time so talagang ipakita natin (upper body) kasi ’yon ang asset mo,’” Libiran explained. - (Chuck Smith)
