Miss Philippines Earth 2020 Roxanne Allison “Roxie” Baeyens bagged the Best in Long Gown and Best in Talent (Dancing category) in the Miss Earth 2020 pre-pageant competition. Winners were announced via a special show on Nov. 24.
In this year’s pageant, the 84 candidates were split into four continental groups: Asia and Oceania, Africa, Americas and Europe.
The candidates participated in Talent, Sportswear, Beachwear, Long Gown, and National Costume pre-pageant competition.
For the long gown competition, Roxie wore her winning Rian Fernandez creation inspired by the Mars Ravelo comics superhero Darna.
Also winning the long gown completion were Gwenivere Chioma Ifeanyieze of Nigeria (Africa), Sabina Poltawska of Poland (Europe) and Lindsey Coffe of the US (Americas).
Meanwhile, the talent competition was split in three categories: Dancing, Singing, and Creative. Being the dancer that she is, Roxie performed an interpretative dance of the score of Nature is Speaking series, narrated by Julia Roberts as Mother Nature.
Other winners in the talent competition’s dancing category were Faridah Kariuki of Kenya (Africa), Marta Lorenzo of Spain (Europe) and Gloren Guelos of Canada (Americas).
The pageant, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, will have its first virtual coronation on Nov. 29, Sunday, due to restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pageant will be live streamed worldwide.
