Rihanna has appointed a new CEO for her lingerie brand Savage X Fenty—five years after its creation in 2018.
The hit singer will be replaced by Hillary Super, the former chief executive officer of Anthropologie Group, with the changeover kicking off on June 26.
“This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer. I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO—she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level,” she said in a statement provided to Vogue Business.
Super, for her part, expressed her excitement over joining the Savage X Fenty family. “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”
Aside from being the CEO of Anthropologie for four years, Super also held leadership roles in brands like Guess, Old Navy, and American Eagle.
Super, in 2017, became part of the Forty Over 40 list (Forty Women to watch over 40), with her mentorship focused on breaking stereotypes and helping young women “visualize their unique future.”
Rihanna will still hold a leadership role in Savage X Fenty as its executive chair.
Savage X Fenty is co-owned by the music and beauty mogul, with investors including LVMH, a luxury goods conglomerate, and Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners. Aside from its online store, it has brick-and-mortar retail stores in Las Vegas, Houston, California, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, and Virginia.
Known for its inclusivity, the brand celebrates all skin tones, shapes, and sizes through a variety of styles and designs. It's looking to transcend e-commerce and venture deeper into wholesale as well as brick-and-mortar.
