Swatch and Omega release new MoonSwatch inspired by the April pink moon

Swatch and Omega, two brands dominating the watchmaking industry, have just released a new "pink" version of their so-called MoonSwatches, a series of timepieces dedicated to various planets and spheroids.

The new look of their Moonshine Gold MoonSwatch features the second hand made with a pink Super-LumiNova tip—in reference to the pink full moon of April—and comes in a gold-plated finish.

According to its website, the seconds hand is "produced exclusively once a month during full moon dates, which are known to have a magical influence on many things, humans included."

Swatch and Omega will release the limited edition watches during full moons in different locations around the world at the price of $285 (P15,800).

The watch is a part of the watchmaking brands' Bioceramic MoonSwatches collection, which consists of 11 Swatches that pay tribute to the 11 planetary bodies, namely, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, as well as the sun and the moon.

"What takes this collection into orbit is the fusion of the most innovative Swatch Bioceramic material with the key Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch design elements. There's the asymmetrical case, the iconic 'dot over ninety' on the tachymeter scale and the distinctive Speedmaster subdials," the description of the watches read.

Because of the overwhelming demand of the collection, however, Swatch and Omega stated that they are working to replenish their stores with new stocks so that customers will be able to get their hands on one soon.
