LOOK: Celebrities serve looks wearing modern Filipino garments during the Bench TernoCon 2024

There's a wave of Filipino pride taking over fashion. Modern Filipiniana dresses in every color or style imaginable are turning heads on red carpets and even on social media. Take it from the recently concluded annual Bench TernoCon fashion show held at the Museo Del Galeon, SM Mall of Asia on Monday, June 10.

Anchored on the theme "TernoCon: Kasarinlan, Kultura, Kasuotan," Filipino designers Jojie Lloren, Cary Santiago, and Jaggy Glarino highlighted Filipino artistry and tradition, showcasing elegance and history through the use of the iconic garment.

Ariella Arida

Ariella Arida rocked a sleek asymmetrical black dress with a butterfly sleeve by Gavin Ruffy. She completed the edgy look with sheer black tights, matching Amina Muaddi heels, and bold eye makeup.

Max Collins

Marsala is the color of choice for Max Collins. She was a vision in a fiery look by fashion designer Marlon Tuazon. She kept things simple yet stylish, wearing pleatedhigh-waisted pants and a modern Filipiniana top.

Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez

In their OOTDs, Lucy and Richard Gomez embodied a classic Filipino couple. Lucy looked stylish in her sophisticated saya, while her husband Richard looked dashing in his Barong Tagalog.

Chelsea Manalo

Fresh off her Miss Universe Philippines 2024 win, Chelsea Manalo made a bold statement at the special event. She stunned in a unique ethnic wear by Filip + Inna paired with a sexy black mini dress and Jewelmer pearl accessories.

Maine Mendoza

What a classic beauty! Eat Bulaga mainstay host Maine Mendoza strutted the runway wearing a creation from Jojie Lloren's "A Lullaby For My Mother," a collection of twelve ternos that honor his mother and the motherland.

Maine's look signifies a relevant and timeless Filipina, integrating traditional motifs, including hairstyles and accessories such as gloves.

Meanwhile, on the runway, Michelle Dee wore a gown from Cary Santiago's Ikonograpiya collection inspired by the country's national symbols.
