Beauty roundup: New fragrances, skin-clearing serums, and sustainable shopping

Q4 is here, and scent is shaping up to be a major holiday favorite. Alongside festive fragrances, the beauty scene is buzzing with latest releases—from acne-correcting serums and clarifying face masks to pore-blurring, brightening powders.

However, as concerns around overconsumption grow, conscious brands are also stepping up. The Beauty Edit, for example, continues to offer its discovery boxes—thoughtfully curated selections that let you try expert recommendations without committing to full-sized products. To further champion sustainability, they’ve partnered with Habitude for The Beauty Loop, a recycling initiative that allows customers to drop off empty beauty packaging for proper recycling.

Chloé Mediterranean Essences Atelier des Fleurs

Scents take center stage this month with multiple launches, notably the expansion of the Chloé Atelier des Fleurs collection, which introduces four new fragrances inspired by the Mediterranean. Transporting the wearer to sun-drenched landscapes and an intimate South of France, these essences explore the unique olfactory imprints of wild garrigues, pine forests, and hidden byways—evoking strolls along sunlit coastal paths, the crackle of pine needles underfoot, and the scent of sun-warmed sand.

Among the new additions are Sable Lavande, a soft and comforting warm lavender; Vert Soleil, a radiant blend of citrusy green mandarin and musk; Plage du Figuier, which pairs sweet, fruity fig with delicate floral orange blossom; and Sous les Pins, an aromatic, woody fusion of pine and eucalyptus.

Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc For Her

Clean, fresh, and wrapped in delicate florals, Narciso Rodriguez’s latest creation is an effortless, all-occasion fragrance. Now under Luxasia Philippines, the house expands its iconic lineup with for her pure musc blanc eau de parfum intense—a scent that beautifully contrasts a vibrant, spicy-citrus opening and luminous floral heart against a rich, velvety base of cedar, amber, oakmoss, and warm vanilla.

Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc For Her is pried at P5,000 for 30ml and is available in Rustan's, SM Beauty, and Lazada.

ISSY Eau de Parfum 536 Scent of Permission

Since our mood determines what scent we reach for, those looking for something warm and alluring for the evening will love Issy's new Eau de Parfum 536 Scent of Permission.

The scent opens unexpectedly with notes of spiced cardamom, rich brown sugar, and a cheeky touch of nail polish. It then evolves into a creamy heart of cocoa butter, jasmine sambac, and rose water, before drying down into an intoxicating base of vanilla, cashmere wood, benzoin, and white patchouli.

The ISSY is priced at P599 for 15ml and P1,499 for 50ml. It is available via the Issy website or through its ecommerce platforms.

Sisley Paris Corrective Serum

Unlike harsh blemish treatments that can strip and damage your skin barrier, the new Sisley Paris Corrective Serum (P12,200 for 30ml) targets recurring breakouts gently and effectively. It refines texture, clears blemishes, and balances sebum production at the source—all without irritating the skin.

If you're looking for a gentle exfoliator in a serum formulation, this is it. It combines high-performance botanical actives to purify and protect. Succinic acid unclogs pores, while organic pomegranate peel extract targets harmful bacteria without disrupting your skin's healthy microbiome. To manage shine and oil quality, roucou seed extract normalizes sebum production, and prickly pear flower extract boosts natural cell renewal to fade post-blemish marks and hyperpigmentation. Finally, soothing burdock and meadowsweet extracts work together to calm inflammation and clarify the complexion.

Perfect for humid days, this serum feels weightless on the skin. It absorbs quickly with a smooth, silky finish—so you get all the benefits without feeling sticky or greasy.

The Sisley Corrective Serum for Blemish-Prone Skin is available at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La, and online at rustans.com.

The Beauty Loop

Got empty beauty products you want to throw away? Don’t toss them out just yet—drop them off at The Beauty Loop! A new sustainability initiative by local skincare brand Habitude, The Beauty Edit, and Spatio, together with Greencycle Innovative Solutions, the program accepts empty beauty packaging from any brand to ensure it is properly recycled or processed.

You can bring your clean, rinsed, and dry packaging to The Beauty Edit Gallery inside Spatio at Opus Mall. Accepted items include plastic bottles and tubes for cleansers, lotions, hair care, and sunscreen; glass jars and bottles for serums, perfumes, and creams; and paper product boxes, outer cartons, and wrapping.

All collected packaging is managed by Greencycle Innovative Solutions, a recycling and waste recovery company with three processing facilities. Rigid plastics are remade into products like sacks and twine, paper and glass are sent to specialized partners for recycling and repurposing, and hard-to-recycle flexible plastics are used as fuel substitutes in cement plants.

What's good about this program is consumers are updated with a report after registering for a Beauty Loop ID. This way, it helps build essential data on total weights, material types, and recovery methods. These records ensure transparency and help guide future expansion.
