PH bet Kelley Day is Miss Eco International 1st runner-up
Kelley Day of the Philippines bagged first runner-up at the Miss Eco International 2020.
At the question-and-answer portion for the Top 5 finalists, the 24-year-old from Tarlac was asked: “Recently, we've had more violence in schools. How do you think can we make a better way to promote safety in our schools?”
For Day, the best thing that can be done is to improve school security is checks. “There has to be things like security checks and metal detectors because that's really all we can do right now and just share the word,” she said. “As I am standing here on this stage, I have the opportunity to tell anyone who is planning to do something to children, to stop. Look after our generation, please. Thank you."
Gizzelle Uys of South Africa won the highly-coveted title at the prestigious tilt that took place in South Sinai, Egypt on Sunday, April 4. She was followed by Day, Alexandria Kelly of the United States (second runner-up), Stefania Rodriguez of Venezuela (third runner-up), and Kristell Ruiz of Costa Rica (fourth runner-up).
Day also won Best National Costume at the preliminary competition held last Friday, April 2, at Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh.
She is no stranger to the limelight. Before joining the pageant scene, she wowed many with her talent in dancing, modeling, and acting.
