'Polygamist of the century': Saudi man claims to have found ‘The One’ after 53 marriages

A Saudi man has finally found “The One” for him after getting married to different women 53 times.

According to a report by Gulf News, Abu Abdullah—who has been known as the “polygamist of the century”—said that tying the knot with a different woman is no longer part of his plans as he’s now happy with one.

“When I married for the first time, I did not plan to marry more than one woman because I was feeling comfortable and had children,” he said in an interview on MBC, a television network based in his homeland.

“But after a while, problems happened and I decided to marry again when I was 23 years old and I informed my wife of my decision,” he continued.

He later faced marital difficulties with his first and second wives, which led him to his third and fourth marriages. Eventually, however, he got separated from those wives, too.

His shortest marriage lasted for only one night.

Gulf News stated that Islam “permits marrying up to four wives at one time. If a man cannot deal justly with all his wives, then he must marry one only.”

For Abdulla, getting married multiple times was essential in his search for his one true love that he’s now found. “Every man in the world wishes to have one woman and remain with her forever. Stability is not to be found with a young woman, but with an old one.”
