King Charles now twice as rich as Queen Elizabeth—here's how much he's worth

King Charles' personal fortune had a significant increase, making him twice as wealthy as his late mother Queen Elizabeth II.

The Sunday Times has dropped its annual "Rich List," where Charles landed at #238. His estimated net worth is at $850 million (PhP47 billion), showing that his wealth jumped by almost $40 million (PhP2 billion) over the past year.

His fortune had surpassed that of Elizabeth, whose personal net worth was around $438 million (PhP24 billion) at the time of her passing.

The wealth he inherited from Elizabeth and his late father Prince Philip was considered in the count, but it was not specified. PEOPLE Magazine reported that senior royals' wills are stored in a secret location.

Not included in the wealth estimate is the Crown Estate or the Duchy of Lancaster, among other royal assets and estates as they "come with the job as sovereign and there are rules circumscribing a monarch’s ability to sell or profit from them," according to the media outlet, which also noted that art, jewelry, furniture, and other pieces are owned by the Royal Collection and are "held in trust" for the sovereign.

The count also does not cover Sandringham and Balmoral, which are known as the royal family's most valuable assets.

"To consider these the King’s personal holdings would be akin to an executive viewing the office laptop or the company car parked on their driveway as their own," it added.

Also included in the list are UK celebrities like Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham, Dua Lipa, and Lewis Hamilton.
