Ready for romance? Here's how you can use feng shui to find love

Single and ready to mingle?

If you're serious about finding love this Chinese New Year, one of the ways to increase your chances of doing so is through feng shui.

According to feng shui expert and Chinese Metaphysics master Joey Yap, it's not just about placing objects here and there. "That's always secondary," he told PhilSTAR L!fe, "because when you do that, the objects might trigger energies, but there are many people in the house. It doesn't aim at a target, at just one person."

What you can focus on to attract love is activating certain areas of your home. Yap said that while finding "The One" takes more than following certain practices, activating these corners could enhance your luck in romance in one way or another.

West sector

Attractiveness goes beyond the physical, Yap noted, adding that there are people who are attracted to one's intellect.

"If you enhance your intellect, enhance your knoweldge, and be more articulate, you could seem interesting to someone," he explained.

Activating the West sector could help grow your intelligence. How can you do this? Be in it.

"If you were to use the west sector for calling your friends, connecting online, talking to people, and more importantly, studying a new subject, an interesting subject for conversation, that’s the best feng shui," he said. "In that area, study a subject. Learn how to be conversational. Learn an interesting subject to be interesting."

East sector

You can activate the Peach Blossom star by putting a water element in the East sector. According to Yap, this star makes you more attractive as it's associated with love and beauty.

"It’s a two-fold thing. It’s in the east sector this year, so water in the east can trigger this for you can enhance that," he said.

"If you put some flowers that grow on water or plants that grow on water, that would trigger this energy a bit more. They will activate it. You can try that," he added.

Southeast sector

"The southeast sector is the nobleman sector that helps you connect with people who can help you and support you in different ways," said Yap. It's measured from the center of the house.

"If you want good quality people to come into your life, then I would recommend using the southeast sector," he continued.

It's a good place to connect with people, whether online or in person. "Connect with people on Facebook, on Instagram. You can also meet them in this area of the house, have a chit-chat, have a party, connect with people. That's what you need to do."

North sector

If you've been having difficulties communicating with a potential lover, activating this power area in your abode could help.

"You'd want to put a water element in the north and learn how to talk to others well in that space," said Yap.

"Learning how to do this is important because a lot of people just say whatever's in their mind, offend others, and then ask, 'How come my relationships don't last?' It could be because you don't how how to communicate," he explained.

Northwest sector

The northwest sector is good for lessening tension and arguments with others.

"To activate it, add a fire element there. Have a candle or a red lamp to help you keep your calm and avoid potential conflicts with others," he said.

Doing so could activate the Moon Star, which makes you a master of your own emotions, even in hard times.

Activation of the aforementioned sectors can help increase relationship luck, but still, Yap noted that finding love involves many things beyond feng shui.

"There's passion, there's commitment, there's responsibility, there's finance, and more," he stressed.

"It takes way more than just readjusting your environment for that. It's not just placing some flowers here and then boom, the next day, you get your soulmate. If it only works that way, life would be so much easier and happier, right?" added Yap.
