Jo Koy and Chelsea Handler celebrate the holidays by cooking ‘Jewipino’-style spaghetti

The couple gets in the holiday spirit with a celebration of both their cultures by cooking “Jewipino”-style spaghetti.

When Jo Koy and Chelsea Handler get together in a video, they sure do churn out some hilarious comedy action.

In a recent video posted in both their accounts, Jo and Chelsea once again hit the kitchen to welcome the holidays. And as the holidays are also about nurturing relationships and traditions, the couple brought their cultures together with “Jewipino” cooking, a portmanteau of their cultures, Jewish for Chelsea and Filipino for Jo.

“I want to make another recipe with Josep for the holiday season where we blend our cultures—Jewipino is what it is. I’m Jew, he’s a Filipino,” said Chelsea, who learned how to cook chicken adobo with Jo in one of the first videos they posted before they went Instagram official in September.

Jo suggested they cook spaghetti, one of the dishes that Filipinos love to eat during the holidays.

For the 'Jewipino' spaghetti, Chelsea Handler slices Hebrew National hotdogs while Jo Koy empties a bottle of banana ketchup for the sauce.

In the video, Chelsea was doubtful at first, pointing out the dish is Italian. “But the way we make it is very Filipino. We use the regular tomato sauce and then we add hotdogs,” said Jo, who also brought out the secret ingredient to every Filipino-style spaghetti—banana ketchup.

For her part of the dish, Chelsea brought kosher Hebrew National hotdogs, which is a childhood staple for her.

Everything was fine during the cooking session until Chelsea brought out the “Angel hair pasta,” which turned out to be Thai vermicelli noodles.

The couple had to make do with what they have and continued cooking, with their hilarious banters, of course.

Their unconventional Jewipino spaghetti became a blend of several cultures, which according to Jo was a mixture of Thai, Jewish, Filipino and Italian.

Et voila! The finished product, Jewipino+Thai+Italian spaghetti. (Right) Chelsea reluctantly tries the spaghetti sauce.

Of course, no cooking video ends without a taste test. Chelsea was hesitant to test the sauce but did it anyway.

The couple ended the video wishing their fans “From our family to yours, happy holidays! Mahal kita, Shabbat Shalom, maligayang Pasko.”

After going Instagram official in September, Jo and Chelsea have been out and about, tagging along each other’s media rounds and shows as seen on their social media posts.

It was at the recently concluded People’s Choice Awards where the couple had their first red-carpet event. That night, Chelsea bagged the Best Comedy Act of 2021 for her ongoing “Vaccinated and Horny Tour.”

In her acceptance speech, Chelsea thanked her family, friends and fans who voted for her. A chunk of her speech was dedicated to Jo, who was cheering for her from the sidelines of the event.

“Everything is sweeter in life because I have Jo Koy with me,” Chelsea told the audience. “I’m just happy to share all of this with you, and everything with you. And now we can go home together and have more fun there.”

We hope these two stay in love!
