EastWest at 32: Making banking easy for what matters most

A payment made with a tap of the wrist. Essential banking completed securely through a mobile app. Credit card services accessed through an AI-powered digital assistant. A retirement fund started online with as little as P2,000.

As EastWest marks its 32nd anniversary, the Bank continues to reduce unnecessary effort in banking—giving customers more time for the people, plans, and possibilities that matter most.

One commitment, brought to life

What matters most is personal: building stronger savings, buying a first home or car, planning a long-awaited trip, preparing for retirement, or simply having more time for family and everyday life.

For 32 years, EastWest has worked to make these journeys easier. Today, it is carrying that commitment forward by combining secure, convenient banking with relevant solutions and human support when needed.

Digital banking with greater ease and confidence

One of the clearest ways EastWest is bringing this commitment to life is through digital solutions that make everyday banking more seamless and secure.

At the center of EastWest’s digital journey is EasyWay, the Bank’s mobile app, which allows customers to manage their accounts and complete essential transactions wherever they may be. Complementing EasyWay is the Komo mobile app, which offers high-interest savings accounts and a simple digital banking experience for saving, spending, and transferring money.

Device binding, strengthened authentication, biometric access, real-time transaction notifications, and debit card controls give customers greater visibility and control. These safeguards are increasingly important as more people rely on digital channels for everyday banking.

EastWest is also using artificial intelligence to make assistance more accessible. ESTA, or EastWest System Tech Assistant, is the Bank’s AI-powered digital assistant. It enables users to obtain information and perform a range of credit card services. The Bank has also launched ECHO, or EastWest CMS Help Officer, an AI-powered chatbot designed to help business owners better understand and access EastWest's Cash Management Services.

Together, EasyWay, ESTA, and ECHO reflect EastWest’s practical approach to technology: innovation should reduce effort, improve responsiveness, and make banking more useful, with human assistance available when needed.

More ways to pay, wherever life takes you

EastWest’s growing payments ecosystem gives customers greater choice in how they transact.

Alongside its own EastWest Pay, the Bank's mobile contactless payment app, EastWest was among the first banks in the Philippines to offer Google Pay, and the Bank continues to expand the ways customers can pay securely and conveniently.

EastWest is also Garmin Pay's only traditional banking partner that enables cardholders to use EastWest Visa credit cards, Visa debit cards, and Mastercard credit cards for secure, contactless payments through compatible Garmin smartwatches.

Whether heading out for a morning run, stopping for coffee, or taking care of everyday errands, customers can simply move, tap, and go—without reaching for their wallet or phone.

Together, these options fit naturally into customers’ routines, combining convenience with the security expected from a trusted financial institution.

An easier way to prepare for retirement

Making banking easy extends beyond everyday transactions to important financial decisions, including preparing for retirement.

Through partnerships with DragonFi and Luna Securities, EastWest is expanding access to its Personal Equity and Retirement Account investment funds. Local investors and overseas Filipino workers can invest through partner platforms with as little as P2,000.

PERA is a voluntary retirement savings program that complements benefits from the SSS, GSIS, and employer-sponsored plans. Offering EastWest-managed PERA investment funds digitally helps more Filipinos begin investing toward long-term financial security.

Anniversary offers for life’s priorities

EastWest’s anniversary offers support a range of goals—from strengthening savings and purchasing a home or vehicle to enjoying travel, dining, and leisure.
