Actress Rebel Wilson enjoyed Memorial Day weekend in the US, soaking up the sun in Florida and flaunting her fit body that was the result of her year-long health journey.

The Pitch Perfect actress posted on Instagram a photo of her on the beach wearing a summer ensemble of a black zip-up swimsuit, brimmed hat, massive sunglasses and Givenchy slip ons.

“Palm Beach-ing. I think I want to move to Florida now,” Wilson captioned the photo.

A day before hitting the beach, Wilson flew via a private jet to Palm Beach to present trophies to the winners of the inaugural World Polo Pride event. She posted on Instagram her look for the event—a black off-shoulder top with fur trim detail and a YSL rider shorts that highlighted her figure.

Both of Wilson’s Memorial Day weekend snaps resonated well with fans, many praising the actress’ progress in her journey.

“You were beautiful before and beautiful now. Congrats on all the hard work you put in,” a follower commented.

Another one commented, “Wow, so so so so amazing. You deserve to be incredibly proud of your dedication.”

Wilson, 41, has been open about her fitness and health journey, which she embarked on her 40th birthday last year, calling 2020 her “year of health.” She targeted to hit her goal weight of 165 pounds by the end of the year but achieved the goal one month earlier.

“Hit my goal with one month to spare!” Wilson wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Even though it’s not about a weight number, it’s about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75 kgs.”

The Pooch Perfect host and producer, who has lost over 60 pounds to date, shared in an Instagram Live session in December that she was determined to make a major lifestyle change not just for her physical appearance but also for her mental health.

Feeling good about her progress, Wilson shared with Extra that she used to try different diets and ways to lose a few pounds but the weight she’d lose oftentimes would just go back. Since her “year of health,” Wilson said she has not gained any weight back.

“I think because I approached it from all areas,” she said. “The biggest thing that I haven’t ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as a classic emotional eating, so I really worked on that side.”

She practiced eating slowly and mindfully and learned how to battle emotional eating by keeping her mental health in check.

As she is dedicated to breaking some exercise habits in the past, Wilson now works out with a personal trainer up to six times a week. She also engages in physical activities to keep her moving like hiking and walking.

In an Instagram Live session in November, Wilson candidly revealed that one of the reasons she embarked on a health and fitness journey was because she was thinking about fertility to have “good quality eggs in the bank.”

Speaking with People, the actress shared, “My goal was never to be skinny. I don’t focus much on the numbers. I still look like me. I love being curvy and I’m still super curvy but just a healthier version. That was my goal.”

Looking back at her year of health journey, Wilson said in an interview with InStyle she hoped she had done it earlier but she has come to terms with herself and understands that every person has a different journey to take and different goals to achieve.

“Sometimes I feel sad that I didn’t do it earlier. Maybe I should have tried when I was 30, not 40. But everybody’s journey is different, and it’s not a race or competition,” she shared.

Wilson also acknowledges that though she has access to high-tech and expensive treatments, she learned that it is the little things she does every day that makes a difference.

“Anyone can go on walks and drink more water and do little, consistent things that’ll improve their lives. It’s not too late to start, no matter what age you are,” she said.
