Echoing what she has been saying the past few months, Julia Barretto said she is willing to leave showbiz to start a family—even going as far as saying that she wants to start a family next year.

Julia said this when she appeared on her boyfriend Gerald Anderson’s vlog, posted on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, April 21. In the video, Gerald asked Julia if she is willing to leave her showbiz career in order to start a family.

To his question, Julia replied: Anytime.”

Asked to elaborate, Julia said that she’s happy with what she has achieved in her career as an actress. But her dream for the future is a “simple quiet life.”

“Because I feel like at an early age, I was already exposed to this life because I grew up and my aunts would take me to their work, my dad and my mom. It was kind of the only life I knew so I felt like that’s where I was gonna end up. Now. But in the future, a simple quiet life is what I dream,” Julia said.

Julia was also asked by Gerald about her plans for the next five or ten years. Julia simply answered, “Family’.”

“Saan dun? Sa five or sa ten (years)?” Gerald asked.

“Next year,” Julia quipped.

The 24-year-old actress later explained, “Dun ako sa five, dun ako sa five (years).”

Gerald and Julia, who admitted to being in a relationship in February this year, have been separately expressing their desire to live a simple family life in the near future—and perhaps this vlog is proof that the couple may be serious about their declarations of wanting to start a family soon.

In a press conference in February, Gerald said he sees himself settling down soon. “Gusto ko na magkapamilya. Is it the right time? I don't think so. I think marami pa akong kailangang matutunan. Andami ko natutunan during the pandemic, mga lessons na itinuturo sa ating lahat,” he said.

Meanwihile, in an interview with photographer BJ Pascal on his YouTube channel, Julia said she just wants to have a family. “Yun lang talaga. So I feel like at 24, nagwo-work na ako sobra. Tapos siguro at 25, work din sobra. Para 26 and above, pwede na akong mag-start ng family ko. Yun ang dream ko talaga for myself ever since I was young. So ‘yun, to answer your question, now that I’m 24, I think I just really wanna hustle now, hustle next year, and then figure out from there how to start a family.”
