Gabby Eigenmann says he's willing to walk sister Andi down the aisle for her wedding
Gabby Eigenmann, the paternal half-brother of Andi Eignmann, revealed that he is willing to walk down the aisle with the latter on her wedding day.
Speaking to the press, Gabby shared that he wanted to do this as part of his promise to the late veteran actress, Jaclyn Jose, posted on the former Instagram account.
“Siyempre, di ba, ngayon engaged [na] sila? One way or another, anytime soon they’re gonna get married. Who’s gonna walk her down the aisle—ako yun,” he said.
In case you didn't know, Gabby and Andi are half-siblings through the late veteran actor Mark Gil. The former's mother is 1980's commercial model and On the Job star, Irene Celebre.
A brotherly love
On the fourth night of Jaclyn Jose's wake at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, Gabby spoke with entertainment journalist Allan Diones about his brotherly love for Andi. He said that his love for Andi has been there since they were little and that he will always be at the latter's side, especially with the passing of "Tita Jane."
"Akala ko okay na ako kasi nag-taping ako. I had an option not to tape, but na-absorb ko ang nararamdaman ni Andi. I would never make her feel [alone]. She will never feel that way. I'll make sure of that," he said.
The 46-year-old also recalled how he took part in Andi's life especially when the latter was young.
"When Andi was growing up, noong naghiwalay [sina Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil], away bati, away bati, ako ‘yung tumatahan kay Andi. Ako ang humihiram kay Andi kay Tita Jane. Kapag may family gathering ang mga Eigenmann, I would stand up and hiramin ko si Andi."
"Not that I was replacing my dad, ako ang pinaka-Kuya niya," he added.
Meanwhile, Andi announced her romance with pro-surfer Philmar Alipayo in 2018. They have two children named Lilo and Koa. Ellie is Andi's daughter with ex-boyfriend Jake Ejercito.
The couple got engaged in 2020 when Philmar proposed to Andi on the balcony of their hotel room during a vacation in Batangas.
"I never thought about how my engagement would go because, quite honestly, I didn't think I'd have one. It would've been OK regardless, but it did happen. And it happened the way I wanted it and so much more. Nothing grand. Unprompted, simple, and oh so sincere. That's us. That's him. That is how I want the rest of my life to be," Andi said at that time.
She added, "I am over the moon, so stoked to be spending it with you my mahal."
Philmar also took to Instagram to announce their engagement.
"She said YES! I love you so much. So happy to spend the rest of my life with you," he wrote.
"Promise to take care of you, Ellie, Lilo and our coming baby number 3 and to make you laugh more and more everyday," Philmar added.
