Gabby Eigenmann on Jake Ejercito, Philmar Alipayo: 'These are good men who love my sister'

Gabby Eigenmann only has good things to say about his sister Andi's ex-boyfriend Jake Ejercito and her fiancé Philmar Alipayo.

In a recent interview with entertainment portal PEP.ph, the actor talked about how Jake and Philmar treated each other during the wake of Andi's mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, who passed away early this month due to myocardial infarction or heart attack.

"Okay sila. You know, they both respect each other," he said, adding that Jake's family has been nothing but supportive of them during this difficult time.

"Jake's there to support Ellie and noong dumating si Philmar, nagkita sila, nagbatian sila, wala namang naging problema," he recalled.

Gabby described the two as "good men who love [his] sister."

"For sure, Jake still loves my sister, not as a partner, but as the mother of their daughter, Ellie," he explained.

Gabby said he loves the both of them equally as they both just want Andi to be happy. "Alam mo, mahal ko silang dalawa eh. In fairness, kasi noong wala ako, nandoon sila. Noong wala ako as kuya kay Andi, nandoon sila."

"Jake has been dear to me kasi he's been there, day one, eh. Okay naman si Jake, okay rin naman si Philmar," he said.

"Happy ako na nandiyan sila pareho para kay Andi at sa mga pamangkin ko," he added.

Jake attended Jaclyn’s wake at a memorial chapel in Quezon City, which ran until March 9. He and Andi welcomed a child named Ellie in November 2011. Andi confirmed their breakup in September 2014 and have since been following a co-parenting setup.

Philmar also flew from Siargao to Manila with his two kids with Andi for the wake. He and Andi have been engaged since 2020. They have yet to tie the knot.
