China woman dates over 100 men in a year after losing 8-year BF, well-paying job
A woman from Beijing in China said she dated over 100 men in a year to search for the one who would start a family with her.
The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that the woman, known by her online nickname Baozhuzi, started her dating spree in late 2021 after her boyfriend of eight years dumped her.
To rub salt into the wound, the 32-year-old lost her well-paying job in a local tech firm two weeks later.
Since then, Baozhuzi has met with men from different culture and fields, from finance to music. She also experienced going to three dates in a day, the SCMP reported.
In an interview with NetEase News, she said she didn't feel any pressure to get married before a certain age, though wanted to have a baby before turning 35.
Pregnancy after age 35 is said to have certain risks, though China deems 25 to 29 as the ideal age to carry a child.
In the grand scheme of things, Chinese culture has also put a pressure on women, who are expected to get married and have children.
Addressing single women in their 30s, Baozhuzi said they shouldn't be limited in their choices and must pursue their goals no matter what.
“The point is don’t live a life of regrets,” she is quoted as saying.
Baozhuzi's 100-plus dates appear to have worked out, as she found a new boyfriend last November. When all is said and done, she learned to "accept failure."
“You can work hard on everything except for love," she is quoted as saying. "You cannot expect to be rewarded in love."
