Carlos Yulo has opened up about the controversies surrounding his mother Angelica Yulo and his girlfriend Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist posted a lengthy video on TikTok wherein he responded to his mother's statements in a previous interview about his relationship with Chloe and the alleged mishandling of his past winnings. Angelica earlier told Bombo Radyo, Angelica said that she managed Carlos' prize money due to concerns about his relationship with Chloe, whom she labeled a "red flag."

"Unang-una po, 'yung P70k na incentives po na sinasabi niya from World Championships 2021. [2022] 'yun and 'di lang po P70k 'yung na-receive ko. Alam ko six digits 'yun dahil dalawa po yung nakuha kong medalya," he said.

The gymnast said that his mother never told him she received the incentives from World Championships 2022 until he asked her.

"Never ko na po na-receive yung incentives na 'yon at never ko pong hiningi 'yun sa kanila. Binigay ko na at wala na po 'yun sakin. Ang sakin lang naman, gusto kong malaman san napunta 'yung incentives ko na 'yun," the Olympian said.

He also shared that his mother had access to all of his bank accounts, including the one for his monthly allowance for gymnastics.

"Noong nakuha ko na 'yung bank account na 'yun, doon ko nalaman na inuubos niya 'yung laman noon. Nasa akin po ang bank statement ng mga withdrawal na ginagawa niya noon,' he said.

He then confirmed that his relationship with his mother became strained because of his partnership with Chloe.

"Red flag daw po si Chloe na sinabi ng mama ko. Hinusgahan niya po si chloe sa pananamit at pag akto po niya," the gymnast said, adding that it's because Chloe is of a Fil-Australian background.

Carlos ended the video by thanking and acknowledging his mother's well wishes. He also hoped that they could move past the issue.

"Nag-flashback po talaga 'yung masasakit na sinabi niyo sa'kin, at 'yung mga 'di pag wish well sa'kin, tumatatak po sa'kin talaga," he said.

"Ang message ko sa inyo ma na mag-heal kayo, mag-move on, at napatawad ko na kayo a long time ago...Tigilan na po natin to, at icelebrate nalang po natin 'yung mga ginawa na paghihirap, pagsasakripisyo ng bawat atletang pilipino sa Olympics."

Angelica Yulo seeks legal action

On Aug. 5, Angelica, through her lawyer Raymond Fortun, said that she is considering filing charges against those who spread "fake posts" and "libelous comments" against her.

The lawyer added that it was "regrettable" that only Angelica's comments on Chloe were uploaded.

She also congratulated Carlos for the win, saying, "Good for him kasi eto na 'yung pinapangarap niya at eto na 'yung pinakahihintay niya at nag [pay] off lahat ng paghiihirap niya."

Carlos won back-to-back gold at the Paris Olympics on Aug. 3 and 4 for the artistic gymnastics men's floor event and the men's vault final.

In a previous interview with GMA News, his father Mark Andrew Yulo celebrated the win and hoped for a family reunion.

"Sana mag bonding tayo ng mama at kapatid mo. Sana mag meet up tayo at mag-usap tayong lahat," he said.
