Many Filipinos go abroad to support their families better. When padala day comes, their loved ones back home have no choice but to endure long lines in remittance centers or banks.

But it finally changes moving forward as overseas Filipino workers now have the option to send money via e-wallet with the launch of GCash Overseas.

In a release on Monday, March 18, the finance app said Pinoys in 16 countries may now complete money transfers through GCash whether they have Philippine SIMs or mobile phone numbers in their respective territories of residence.

These include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia.

Aside from being able to send money to their loved ones, GCash Overseas users may also pay bills like household utilities, tuition, and taxes, among others as well as buy mobile phone load for their relatives at home using the app.

The company said it partnered with licensed recruitment agency Ikon Solutions Asia, as well as global payment platform Alipay+, for the latest feature.

It has previously teamed up with international payments giant Visa to cater to over 100 million ships across 200 countries and territories.

Aside from money transfers, GCash offers services like savings, gifting vouchers, and online payments for billers.
