Starting your first job? Here's how to apply for your PhilHealth membership online

Joining the workforce soon? Apart from getting an NBI clearance and your SSS number, first-time employees need to secure essential health benefits for themselves and their families.

This is what makes the PhilHealth ID an essential and standard requirement among employers.

As with most pre-employment documents, the application begins online. Here is a guide on how to apply:

PhilHealth membership

First, visit the official PhilHealth website and click on Online Services. Under Online Services, you will have access to the Member Portal. Once there, click on PhilHealth Member Registration.

You will now enter the Pin Application site. Enter an email address and key in the right Captcha code, then click Proceed. Take note that a valid email address can only be used once in this process.

Once done, check out your email for a User Pin Application message, which will include a link to complete your registration.

On the Terms and Conditions page, you will need to upload a required document to verify your civil status, nationality, or status as a college student, which is subject to approval. Simply tick the checkbox and click the green box saying "Agree and accept."

You will then be redirected to the PhilHealth Member Registration, where you will enter your membership category, profession, annual income, personal information, contact details, preferred Konsulta Provider or public healthcare institution, and dependent details. Accomplish them accordingly.

Once done, you have to upload supporting documents for your application. Include a valid ID, proof of income, a birth certificate, or a marriage certificate. 

If everything is correct and complete, simply click Submit Your Registration. Wait for PhilHealth to verify your application and check out your email for updates. If successful, a PhilHealth number will be sent to your email.

To get a physical PhilHealth ID, visit the nearest PhilHealth center near you and give your PhilHealth number and basic details. Typically, this will take you less than an hour.
