A digital version of your TIN ID is now available through the eGovPH app, according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

On its Facebook page on Tuesday, April 28, the BIR announced that Filipinos can get their TIN ID digitally via the government app.

The bureau provided a step-by-step guide to accessing the card online, which you can find below.

  1. Download the eGovPH App on Google Play or App Store.
  2. Create your account. Make sure to input the correct details.
  3. Verify your identity. Identity verification is done through facial recognition.
  4. Log in to your account. Enter your registered mobile/email address, and then input your OTP and 6-digit MPIN.
  5. Open mobile ID wallet. Tap the "Digital ID" icon, which you can find at the bottom of your screen.
  6. View your BIR digital TIN ID.

The BIR coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications Technology in making the move possible.

Note that you can only access your digital TIN ID if your eGovPH profile matches the information you provided, and if you have an existing digital TIN ID in BIR's Online Registration and Update System.

In 2023, the BIR launched the ORUS, which allows Filipinos to apply for a TIN from the comfort of their homes. It doesn’t require a signature, as it can be verified online by scanning the QR code with phone cameras. With the introduction of ORUS at the time, the BIR aimed to "eliminate the practice of fixers and scammers selling TIN online."
