UP grad tops 2025 Bar exams

The Supreme Court on Wednesday, Jan. 7, announced that 5,594 out of 11,420 passed the 2025 Bar examinations, resulting in a 48.98% passing rate.

Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez of the University of the Philippines-Diliman ranked first with a grade of 92.70%, followed by Spinel Albert Declaro of the University of Santo Tomas with a grade of 92.46%. Placing third is Alaiza Adviento of UST with a grade of 91.91%.

Completing the Top 20 are the following:

A total of 137 out of 143 schools emerged with successful Bar exam takers. Among the law schools with over 100 first-time candidates, Ateneo de Manila University had the highest percentage of passers at 98.11% (104 out of 106), followed by the University of the Philippines at 96.83% (214 out of 221) and University of Santo Tomas-Manila at 96.30% (104 out of 108).

The oath-taking and roll-signing of new lawyers will take place at the Philippine Arena on Feb. 6.
