Heads up, commuters: LRT-1 will be offering free rides on Independence Day
Commuters will be able to enjoy free train rides to celebrate the country's 125th Independence Day.
In a statement posted on Friday, Light Rail Manila Corp. (LMRC) announced that LRT-1 free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 12.
Those with Beep cards may go through the Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS) gates without tapping their cards. Others meanwhile may get single journey tickets for free from the teller booths.
Take note that LRT-1 will follow holiday operating hours on Monday. The first trip from Baclaran and Roosevelt stations will leave at 4:30 a.m. and the last trips are at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively.
