Lucky Chinatown redefines retail experience with Philippines’ first suspended LED display

Published Feb 18, 2026 11:30 am

Lucky Chinatown elevates the local retail landscape by unveiling the Philippines’ first hanging LED cylinder, setting a new benchmark for architectural media. This 16-foot vertical landmark serves as a focal point of the mall’s central atrium, offering a massive 70-square-meter digital canvas visible from every vantage point.

The 360-degree, high-definition display delivers seamless, distortion-free visuals, functioning as both an artistic centerpiece and an immersive platform for seasonal storytelling. Equipped with precise motor controls, the cylinder ascends or descends to suit specific programming needs, transforming the atrium into a dynamic performance space.

The unveiling was led by Graham Coates, First Vice President and Head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, together with technology partner Inewvation International Corporation CEO and President Jayson So. Joining them were Nori Mizoguchi, GM of Lucky Chinatown, and Megaworld executives Mike Lao, Sr. AVP and Head of Mall Operations, and Tinay Villanueva, Sr. AVP and Head of Marketing.

This installation anchors a sophisticated redesign of the atrium’s interior, reflecting a commitment to world-class retail environments. A new wave-like ceiling integrates advanced lighting with a Dutch-engineered acoustic system from Amsterdam, ensuring pristine sound clarity that complements the high-scale visuals. The synergy between the ceiling design and the digital cylinder creates a sensory environment that transports visitors beyond the traditional shopping experience.

The LED display becomes the center of attraction at the mall atrium, depicting the Dragon's Tale in vivid detail.

The display debuted at Lucky Chinatown’s Chinese New Year with a "naked-eye" 3D dragon sequence and synchronized spatial audio. This premiere showcased the guardian protector in lifelike detail, blending heritage and technology to captivate audiences.

Lucky Chinatown General Manager Norico Mizoguchi shares an inspiring message to the audience as the ceremony commences.

Hourly showcases now take center stage, with ambient visuals running all day for a dynamic backdrop. Blending technology and design, the LED cylinder puts Lucky Chinatown at the forefront of architectural media, redefining lifestyle destinations in the heart of Binondo.

Performers showcase a Yin and Yang spectacle with moves that send harmony and prosperity to all spectators.
