Don't put back your umbrellas and raincoats just yet—cloudy skies and occasional rain are expected throughout the long weekend.

According to the weather outlook by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, cloudy weather is expected to persist over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon from Thursday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 21 due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms possible.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are forecast over the Visayas and Mindanao, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

By Saturday, Aug. 22, Metro Manila can expect temperatures of 25°C to 29°C and a 70% chance of rain. On Sunday, Aug. 23, temperatures may range from 24°C to 29°C, with an 80% chance of rain.

Expect rain in nearby cities, with high chances in Olongapo, Baguio City, and Tagaytay City.

As of 3 p.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area, formerly Tropical Depression Neneng, was located 460 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes, while the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon.

Ilocos Region, Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, while similar conditions are expected across the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms, with flash floods or landslides possible during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA is also tracking additional weather systems, noting that Saudel, which will be named Obet locally, may enter the northeastern boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Sunday, Aug. 23, and Monday, Aug. 24. This may further enhance the Habagat as it approaches the country.

Furthermore, a separate system designated as LPA 08h formed east of Mindanao and was located 1,725 km east of northeastern Mindanao as of 3 p.m., with forecasts indicating it may merge with Obet in the coming days.
