Jose de Juan, the father of missing bride-to-be Sherra de Juan, has refuted claims that his daughter was suffering from financial distress as investigations into her disappearance continue.

In an interview with TV Patrol, Jose addressed the initial findings of the Quezon City Police District that suggested that Sherra may have been facing financial difficulties before going missing on Dec. 10.

"Sa gastusin namin, kumbaga 'yung sa gamot, walang problema doon. Kaya kung talaga sa financial po, wala talaga," he said.

QCPD director Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio previously said in a press briefing that Sherra has been experiencing emotional distress and financial problems "due to her father's medical condition and her forthcoming wedding."

He added that they found Sherra's browsing history showed sensitive searches for medication.

However, her fiancé Mark Arjay Reyes, told TV Patrol also refuted the initial findings.

So wala kaming gastos diyan ni piso," he said.

On the sensitive searches about certain medications, he maintained that Sherra is mentally okay.

Mark and Sherra were supposed to get married on Dec. 14 before her disappearance. She was captured in CCTV footage on Atherton Street on the day she went missing, but none gave definite clues about her whereabouts.

Mark was tagged as a person of interest by police on Dec. 17.

In a police investigation, a person of interest is not yet considered a suspect. The term merely gives police the flexibility to further question or investigate certain individuals without having to arrest them.

Jose has now urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and making speculations about the case.

The fiancé and Sherra's family are offering P150,000 for valid information on the missing bride-to-be's whereabouts.
