OFFLINE: Messenger app down as Facebook is hit by outage problem

Facebook’s Messenger app is now down as scores of users have reported connection issues.

Philippine data from website DownDetector showed a spike of users reporting issues with the app from a zero baseline today to a peak of 3,959 and growing.

Data from website shows that other countries are experiencing connection issues as well.

One could see the sudden increase of downed users today in the Philippines from the image below.

In a Reuters report, Facebook Inc acknowledged that some users were facing issues while sending messages on Messenger, Instagram and its office collaboration service Workplace.

“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” a company spokesperson told Reuters.
