The next elections in the Philippines are in 2028, with Filipinos set to vote for the future set of leaders, including the president.

For those who haven't registered to cast their ballot yet, take note that the Commission on Elections is opening voter registration starting Nov. 10.

Registration will be open from Tuesday to Friday until July 30, 2027 at the office of the election officer, satellite or mall registration outlets, COMELEC's Register Anywhere Program, and the Special Register Anywhere Program.

During the period, you may apply for registration for first-time voters, transfer of registration record, reactivation of registration record, change of name or correction of entries, inclusion or reinstatement of registration record, transfer from foreign service post to local, and updating of records for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, indigenous cultural communities, and more.

To vote in the national and local elections, you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the Philippines for at least a year where you propose to register.

You'll need a valid ID when you file your application. You may bring a national ID, postal ID, PWD ID, student ID, senior citizen's ID, driver's license, student permit, NBI clearance, Philippine passport, UMID card, IBP card, PRC license, or barangay ID or certificate.
