Star Magic has warned the public that they will take legal action over online attacks against P-pop groups BINI and BGYO.

Atty. Joji Alonso, the legal counsel of ABS-CBN's talent management arm Star Magic, released an official statement on Tuesday, April 23 regarding “malicious online attacks” targeting the said groups.

"BGYO, BINI and its respective members have been the subject of malicious online attacks designed to seriously hurt and damage their reputation," Alonso began in the statement, stressing that sharing “harmful, negative, and false accusations” violates cyberbullying and anti-libel laws.

She added: "The past months have been a painful experience for BGYO and BINI's members as they learn the value of personal accountability. Both groups have gained the courage to stand up against online bullies."

Alonso vowed to take legal action against “emboldened bashers who circulate unfounded rumors."

"Appropriate government agencies and private service providers have been tapped to gather evidence and hold these perpetrators accountable for their unlawful behavior," she underscored. "Filing of criminal cases will be set in motion.”

“We remind the public that it is not only crucial to call out acts of bashing and cyberbullying, but to show kindness and accord everyone due respect, both online and in real life," she concluded.

BINI is an eight-member girl group composed of Maloi, Colet, Sheena, Jhoanna, Mikha, Gwen, Aiah, and Stacey. They debuted in 2021 with the single Born to Win.

Some of their hit songs include Na Na Na, Karera, Lagi, and Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi.

They recently released their extended play Talaarawan with hit tracks Pantropiko and Salamin, Salamin.

Meanwhile, BGYO is a five-member Pinoy pop band composed of Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate under Star Music. The group, known as the Aces of P-pop, officially debuted as BGYO on January 29, 2021, with a single titled The Light.
