Star Magic warns legal action vs social media user who sent death threat to Kim Chiu
Star Magic warned that it would take legal action against a social media user who threatened to kill Kim Chiu.
The talent agency released a statement on Sunday, Nov. 16, after a social media user sent a death threat to the actress in the comments section of an Instagram post.
"Star Magic does not tolerate threats, derogatory remarks, and other personal attacks made online against our artists," it wrote.
"These acts have serious and damaging consequences and we will take legal action, if necessary," it added.
Star Magic included a screenshot of the comment made by user @carlanthony0222. "Give me an address p**sy," "You want to die like a flooding happening p***** i** mo give me your address para mabaril kita," it read.
Chiu has been bashed on social media for consistently slamming corruption in the government in connection with anomalous flood control projects. During the major protests in Luneta Park and Quezon City in September, she used her platform to criticize corrupt officials.
Just recently, she expressed her gratitude to Sierra Madre and other mountain ranges for protecting the Philippines from natural calamities while calling out corrupt politicians.
Sana marinig nila ang sigaw ng kalikasan bago pa man mahuli ang lahat," she said.
