Filipino actor Richard Gomez is one proud dad toward daughter Juliana, after she became champion at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines's épée fencing for women.

On Instagram, Richard shared a clip of Juliana, who hails from the University of the Philippines, dueling with Rowena Vergara of De La Salle University.

"You are now uaap champion!!!" he wrote in his post's caption. "Hard work and understanding of the game has set in."

"I love you ‘day!" he added.

Juliana thanked her dad "for everything" in the comments section and also told him she loves him.

Richard's showbiz colleagues also expressed their admiration in the comments.

"Congratulations!!!! More videos please!" Marjorie Barretto wrote.

Ogie Alcasid and Dingdong Dantes wrote clapping hands emojis.

Juliana, 22, is Richard's daughter with Lucy Torres-Gomez.

Juliana became a fencer because of the very fact that her parents are fencers themselves. Richard practiced the sport during his younger years and was among the Philippine delegates during the 1995 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. To date, he's the president of the Philippine Fencing Association.

In 2021, Juliana competed in the Philippine Fencing Association and Southeast Asian Qualifying Games and ranked third place.

In November 2022, she won the Air Force Open Fencing Championship in Thailand. The following December, she took home the gold at the West Java Fencing Challenge in Indonesia.
