Sharon Cuneta is bursting with pride and admiration over her daughter Miel after she was featured in the cover of a fashion magazine flaunting her gorgeous curves.

Sharing pictures from her photoshoot with the pop culture and fashion magazine Nylon Manila, she was shown stripping off her hesitation and doing some poses with her beautiful, plus-sized body.

“Thank you Nylon for this wonderful opportunity. I'm genuinely so thankful that you’ve given me this platform to share myself with the rest of the world,” wrote Miel, who recently turned 18 years old in September.

“My younger self could have only dreamed of something like this happening. I still can't believe this is real life,” she added.

Sharon couldn’t help but express her joy over her daughter’s milestone and took to Instagram to post a heartwarming message about how Miel fully embraces her body.

“My Miel is incredibly confident. She has no body image issues and from our talks, I sense that she wants to encourage girls and women to be proud of themselves no matter what the world demands that they do, say, or look like,” Sharon wrote.

She went on to say how she admires Miel’s generation for standing up to issues of body shaming.

“I am also glad that her generation now looks down on body shaming (whether people are too thin or too curvy) and thinks of it as being so out and so low. I am extremely proud of her and all that she stands for!” the megastar wrote.

I think she is GORGEOUS & BEEYOOTEEFUULL! What a FACE, this girl. Yes we look alikebut I really believe she has a better version of my face!” she added.

In her interview, Miel opened up about how she felt ashamed of her appearance when she was younger and didn’t feel comfortable about her weight. She eventually got a better sense of herself during the pandemic and has started to love herself without any conditions.

“[T]here’s a lot of stress and pressure that comes with it to sort of be confident, but just me being present and who I am, that’s enough work for me right now as a plus-sized person seeking more body diversity. This way, I am able to help as well,” Miel told the magazine.
