The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines officially announced its new Board of Trustees for the 2026-2028 term. It introduces a new leadership team dedicated to advancing the profession of business communication in the country.

The incoming board, composed of esteemed leaders from various sectors of the communications industry, was formally approved by the membership. Richard Arboleda assumes the role of President, succeeding Belle Tiongco, who will now serve as Chairman.

The newly elected 2026-2028 Board of Trustees includes:

  • Belle Tiongco - Chairman
  • Richard Arboleda - President
  • Abigail Ho-Torres, APR - Vice President
  • Ferdinand Bondoy - Secretary
  • Michelle Bayhon - Treasurer
  • Dave Devilles - Auditor
  • Zandro Carlos Sison - Chair, Membership
  • Charlotte Fabian-Reyes - Chair, Partnerships & Sponsorships
  • Frances Ariola - Chair, Brand and Comms
  • Jeffrey Tarayao - Chair, CEO Excel Awards
  • Marzie Marzan - Chair, Philippine Quill Awards

“The expectations on communicators today are very different from what they were even a few years ago. The work has become broader, more complex, and increasingly tied to business outcomes, trust, and leadership,” said Richard Arboleda, president of IABC Philippines.

“If we want to elevate the profession, we have to continue elevating the professionals practicing it. That is the direction we want to lean into at IABC Philippines through stronger opportunities to learn, share expertise, and sharpen the craft behind the work,” Arboleda added.

The new leadership team will oversee the chapter’s flagship programs, including the Philippine Quill Awards and the returning CEO Excel Awards—while advancing a direction focused on strengthening communicators through more deliberate learning opportunities, greater access to IABC’s global network, and deeper engagement with the work and ideas shaping the profession.

The new Board of Trustees will be guided by its advisers, Ritzi Villarico-Ronquillo, APR, and IABC Fellow; Joe Zaldarriaga; Kane Errol Choa, APR; Rey Anthony David; and Carmencita Arce, APR.

The transition marks a continued commitment to high standards of professional practice and good governance within IABC Philippines.
