Fully vaccinated adults can start receiving COVID-19 booster shots starting Dec. 3–DOH
The Department of Health (DOH) has announced that fully vaccinated adults are eligible to receive their COVID-19 booster doses starting Dec. 3.
The move comes after fully vaccinated health workers started receiving their booster doses on Nov. 17, while seniors and persons with comorbidities began on Nov. 22.

“Those who have completed their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines can be inoculated with the following brands regardless of which vaccines taken in the first two doses,” the health agency said.
At least a six-month interval for vaccination brands Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Gamaleya Sputnik are required. Meanwhile, an interval of three months is required for the single-dose Janssen vaccine.
They added that the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) will also issue operational guidelines on the booster dose implementation.
In November, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared four vaccine brands as booster shots and third doses, namely: Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna.
As of writing, the country has recorded a total of 2,833,038 COVID-19 cases with 15,327 active cases and 2,768,999 recoveries.
The health agency has also reported that the country has administered over 89 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
