Missing cat found in another country after four months
A missing cat has been found safe and sound in another country four months after it mysteriously disappeared.
According to The Independent, Sophie Carty's beloved cat, Luna, disappeared in November 2024 from their home in Darlington, England.
Her owner spent several weeks desperately searching for the feline, reaching out and following up on every possible lead.
However, it was in March when Luna was found alive in a shed in Inverness, Scotland, which is about 300 miles away from her home.
The cat was taken to Highland Vet Referrals, where the staff scanned her microchip, which led them to Carty's contact details, confirming Luna's identity and allowing them to reunite her with her owner.
"I couldn't believe it. That was around a six-hour drive from where Luna went missing," Carty said.
"We traveled the long journey to collect her and brought her home," she added.
Further details about how Luna managed to travel such a great distance have yet to be disclosed.
The cat was malnourished, had an infection, and had nerve damage when found. She was immediately brought to the local veterinary office for medical assistance.
"[Luna] is up and moving (with assistance) and is happy to be home with us," Carty said. "She's getting loads of cuddles and attention, which she isn't complaining about.
In July 2024, a cat snuck into an open box that was shipped across the United States to an Amazon warehouse after its unknowing owners sealed it inside.
