Philippine Airlines to offer more flights to Japan, Australia for holidays
Thinking of where to spend the holidays? Philippine Airlines is adding more flights to Japan and Australia for the holidays later this year.
In an advisory issued on Tuesday, the country's flag carrier announced that it will add more flights to three of its Japan routes. It will expand its Manila–Tokyo (Narita) and Manila–Osaka (Kansai) operations from 14 to 21 flights per week beginning Oct. 25, with the additional services running until March 27, 2027.
PAL will also increase its Manila–Sapporo (Chitose) route from three to five flights weekly from Nov. 24, 2026, through February 27, 2027.
The additional services will bring PAL's total number of weekly flights to Japan to 87, covering six destinations across the country during the holiday rush.
PAL said in a statement that the expanded Japan services will meet peak winter travel demand while supporting tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Japan.
If you're planning to spend the holidays on Bondi Beach or in the Blue Mountains, here's some good news: PAL will also add more flights to Melbourne and Perth to accommodate the Christmas and New Year travel rush. The airline will increase seat capacity on select Sydney and Brisbane routes by deploying larger aircraft.
Before this, PAL announced last May that it would offer direct flights again to Japan's winter capital, Sapporo, starting Nov. 23. It will be a thrice-weekly service between Manila and New Chitose Airport, operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until March 26, 2027.
