Man dies after going down water slide at 5-star hotel in Turkey
A tourist passed away after hitting his head while going down a water slide at a Turkey hotel.
According to a local media report, 65-year-old Ali Cilga was told not to do a headfirst slide for safety reasons but pushed through with it anyway for fun.
The incident took place at a resort in Manavgat in late June. As seen in a video posted by another local media outlet, tourists in the pool did not immediately notice that Cilga got into an accident as they pushed through with their swimming session.
A man, who is reportedly a lifeguard, later jumped into the water to perform CPR on Cilga.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital afterward but still died a few days later.
An investigation into the case is ongoing. An autopsy has also been ordered by the Manavgat Public Prosecution.
