Valerie West resigns as Miss Global Philippines 2026
Miss Global Philippines 2026 Valerie Pawid West has relinquished her title, ALV Pageant Circle confirmed.
The organization issued a statement confirming that an internal compliance review revealed contractual and organizational issues. Both West and her local director have been notified and instructed to address them.
"Ms. West was informed of the resulting adjustment to her status as a crowned queen. Instead of proceeding under the revised organizational arrangement, she chose to voluntarily tender her resignation," they wrote on Thursday.
"ALV Pageant Circle respects Ms. West's decision and extends its best wishes to her in her future endeavors," they continued.
While no reason was revealed, ALV Pageant Circle said that they "will proceed in accordance with its rules, policies, and contractual arrangements, including the necessary coordination with all concerned parties."
Moreover, the organization clarified that this statement is purely informational and not a personal attack on West, her local director, or anyone else. To respect the privacy of everyone involved, ALV Pageant Circle will not comment further on these internal issues.
The new Miss Global Philippines representative will be announced on Saturday, June 20.
West first competed in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant as a delegate from the Filipino community of New York, representing her mother's home province of Ifugao.
By February 2026, she joined Miss World Philippines, where swept the special awards and placed in the Top 10, ultimately securing the Miss Global Philippines title.
The Miss Global 2026 pageant will be held in November in Thailand.
