UP Diliman announces speech workshops this June

Time to hone your speaking skills! The University of the Philippines Diliman is holding another Speak UP workshop series this June.

Led by the seasoned faculty of the UP Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts, these sessions offer an opportunity to learn effective communication from outstanding students, scholars, and practitioners in the fields of communication, theatre arts, and performance studies.

"Each workshop promises guided activities, feedback sessions, and culmination activities ideal for personal, academic, and professional growth," says UP.

From June 1 to 11, children ages 5 to 8 can dive into Storytelling and Performance, while tweens ages 9 to 12 can build a foundation in Basic Public Speaking. For teens ages 13 to 17, the Advanced Public Speaking and Argumentation track offers a deeper dive into the art of persuasion and critical thinking.

Adults haven't been left out, either. On June 6 and 13, the Effective Communication for Professionals workshop will provide those 18 and older with the tools needed to communicate with clarity in any professional setting.

Each participant will be given certificates of completion.

Registration fees start at P8,000 for kids and tweens, and P10,000 for teens and professionals. Special discounted rates will be available for those enrolling before March 31.
