Nadine Lustre takes legal action against 'relentless, malicious' online attacks
Nadine Lustre has filed a complaint for violation of the Safe Spaces Act in response to "relentless and malicious" attacks against her online.
Incoming ML party-list Representative Leila De Lima shared that the actress was taking legal action on May 21.
"This is a necessary step in a time when social media is being used to silence voices that speak for justice and reform. Ginagamit ang mga plataporma para buwagin ang makabuluhang diskurso at palitan ito ng galit at paninira," De Lima said in a statement.

De Lima ended her statement expressing support for Lustre against online attacks. "Make no mistake: we will push back against this behavior. Hindi ito katanggap-tanggap. Hindi ito dapat palamapasin."
In March, Lustre shared a comment from a social media user that said, "Sana ma-rape ka ng adik."
"One of the many that did not pass the vibe check," the actress said about the comment.
Her boyfriend, Christophe Bariou, also responded to this, writing, "Imagine if your girlfriend, wife, sister, mother, or daughter were publicly threatened with rape for simply expressing her opinion."
The Nokturno star endorsed ML party-list in February.
Under the Safe Spaces Act, or Republic Act No. 11313, gender-based sexual harassment (GBSH) in public spaces, online, workspaces, and educational institutions is punishable by law.
